Using Your Asset
Check-In, Check-Out, and Condition Reports
Why condition reports matter
You're sharing a real asset with people who care about its condition as much as you do. Time-stamped, geo-tagged photo reports at every check-in and check-out protect everyone — they show the asset's state when you arrived and when you left, so damage gets attributed correctly.
Before you arrive
- Open your reservation in the Slivvy app
- Review the pre-arrival checklist (cleaning confirmed, supplies stocked, parking instructions)
- If the asset uses a smart lock, your access code is generated automatically and is only active during your stay
Check-in
- Tap Check in in the app
- Walk through and take photos of key areas (living room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor space, plus any vehicle/boat specifics)
- Flag anything that looks like pre-existing damage or missing items
- Submit — the report is locked, time-stamped, and visible to other co-owners
During your stay
- Follow the house rules (pets, smoking, guests)
- Report any maintenance issues right away — see Maintenance Requests, Vendors, and the Reserve Fund
- If something gets damaged, document it immediately. Owning it early goes a long way with your co-owners.
Check-out
- Tap Check out in the app
- Complete the check-out checklist — trash out, dishwasher running, lights off, doors locked
- Walk through and photograph the same areas you did at check-in
- Submit your check-out condition report
What happens if damage is flagged
If a check-out report shows damage that wasn't there at check-in, Slivvy notifies all co-owners. The damage workflow then:
- Routes the charge to the responsible party (not split across all owners)
- Initiates an insurance claim if the damage exceeds the policy deductible
- Tracks repair quotes, work, and payment in the asset's records
Disputes
If you disagree with a damage attribution, you can dispute it through the platform. Photos, timestamps, and the condition report history make these resolutions much cleaner than they would be otherwise.
